This blog was set up by family and friends of Ethan and Lauren to help support their family through prayer and to hopefully relieve some of the financial burden that Ethan and Lauren have had to endure through this trying time. If you would like, you can donate through the button on the right and your donation will go directly into a bank account set up in their names, or you can visit any Metropolitan Bank in Arkansas and donate funds through an account set up in the name of Cynthia Sieber (Ethans's sister) We have also linked the website to a Facebook page we have set up to hopefully spread the word and have as many people praying for our little man as possible.

Ty Update 3/7/11

Isaiah 41:13 "For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, ‘Do not fear; I will help you.’”

3-7-11 The weekend at "The McCullar" house was a great one! With the help of famliy members and Laura, one of their night nurses, Lauren and Ethan were able to experience something that hasn't happened very often in the last 18 months.... a sense of normalcy. Ty, for the most part felt good. Only once did he get nauseated. With the help of Zophan and the rocking of his Honey, he was fast asleep and took a good nap.

Today was "Lab Work" day with really good results!! Ty's WBC-7370, HG-10, Platelets-226,000 and his ANC 5601. Ethan and Lauren were very pleased as this next weekend is a BIG one for their Littleman. Ty will be admitted to Childrens on Thursday morning for Nuclear Medicine to administer a specific drug needed to be in his system for 24 hours prior to his MIBG Scan on Friday. He will have a CT Scan to check the spinal chord involvement. A MRI will be necessary if the doctors cannot see what they need to see. On Friday night Ty will have Chemotherapy Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.

Ty Update 3/6/11

Good Sunday morning! Ty has had a great weekend and felt pretty good with just aliitle down-time yesterday. I was able to spend the day with Littleman as Ethan had to work and Lauren went to judge a "Crowns For Cancer" Fundraiser set up in honor of Ty. Lauren said the pageant was a success and she wished everyone could have won! Lauren and Ethan so appreciate all the efforts to help defray some of the cost to care for their baby. We all have busy lives the fact so many people, family and friends have made and continue to make time for them is awesome! Be blessed today as they are because of you!

Ty Update 3/3/11

Today my sweet little grandson had an Echo of his heart followed by an IVIG Infusion. The Echo was to make sure the Chemo was not affecting his heart in anyway and as it turns out....All is well with Littleman's heart!! YEA! The IVIG Infusion took about 4 hours and it is to help boost his immunity. As I travel to Littlerock this afternoon for the weekend, my prayer will be our baby feels good and has a great weekend! Lauren and Ethan have a Friday night nurse, but not one for Saturday night. It is very difficult for them to maintain their jobs, their own health and manage to care for Littleman sleep deprived. With that being said:
Specific Prayers for Nurses!! Lots of Nurses!
That Lauren and Ethan rest this weekend as to be able to perform at top levels in their jobs.
Safe travels as I travel to and from Littlerock.
Much love to all of you~Debra aka Honey

Ty Update 3/2/11

Ty's labs this morning came back good! WBC - 8000, HGB - 11, Platelets - 63000, and ANC was 5200. Lauren and Ethan were happy with these results!

We draw labs tomorrow am (please pray everything is good!!!) then Friday we go for an ECHO (to check out his heart & make sure it hasn't been affected by the chemo) & another IVIG infusion (to assist his immune system). We are so thankful for all of you and your prayers! Keep them coming! :)

Ty Update 2/26/11 - Ty's Soccer Skills!

Ty Update 2/25/11

Today Ty experienced his first Blood Transfusion. Initially, Ty pulled out the first IV needle, therefore, delaying the process. He's a hard stick, but with skilled nurses and a cooperative baby....mission accomplished. With the procedure starting at 8:45 this morning and ending at 5:00....Littleman's day was long, but he di......d well. He had no adverse reations to the blood. He was given 1/2 unit of blood and 1/2 unit plateletes resulting in his heart rate going back down to a normal rate and his blood pressure increasing back to normal. So he should feel better soon. Rocephin was given as extra protection from infection. Littleman is back home now in his own bed, with his own toys and lovies. Ty has been confined to his bed most of his life; I feel it is where he's most comfortable. We are all so blessed....Thank you for the many prayers. Until tomorrow

Ty Update 2/24/11

Just spoke with Lauren, we were praying Ty's lab work results would be better today. As it turns out, he is still very Neutropenic, which means he is still extremely susceptible to infection. Along with that, his Hemoglobin was 7.4. Lauren and Ethan will take him to the Hematology/Oncology Office for his first... Blood Transfusion tomorrow morning @ 8:45.

In My Devotion today: I AM LEADING YOU, STEP BY STEP, through your life. Hold My hand in trusting dependence, letting Me guide you through this day. Your future looks uncertain and flimsy--even precarious. That is how it should be. Secret things belong to the Lord, and future things are secret things. When you try to figure out the future, you are grasping at things that are Mine. This, like all forms of worry is an act of rebellion: doubting My promises to care for you.

Whenever you find yourself worrying about the future, repent and return to Me. I will show you the next step forward, and the one after that, and the one after that. Relax and enjoy the journey in My Presence, trusting Me to open up the way before you as you go.

In God's name~
Debra aka Honey

Ethan and Lauren, be comforted by his promises. Much Love~

Ty Update 2/23/11

Our sweetest little boy Ty, I have to say is one tough little guy! He had another good night last night with his Mommy as his own personal nurse! (Lucky guy!) While talking with Lauren on the phone early this morning, she shared with me Ty really likes to try and "charm" her when she changes his diaper in the middle of the night with his precious big smiles! Unfortunately for him,his Mommy is exhausted and wasn't ready to play!! All lights went out, even his night light and she said he laid quietly watching his fan and fell back off to sleep. He woke up this morning a very happy baby and has had a great day! Seems to be feeling better. Labs will be drawn again tomorrow morning to check his ANC again.
Our specific prayers for tonight:
1. Good lab results for Ty and infection free.
2. Another good night for Lauren and Littleman as Ethan starts days tomorrow.
3. Good test results on the test Ethan took today! (Can you imagine trying to focus and take a test with all this going on?)
4. Ty's day nurse gets to feeling better.

Be blessed tomorrow and enjoy the day as it is....Our Love, Debra, Lauren & Ethan

Ty Update 2/21/11

Naturally.....Lauren and Ethan are very concerned about their Littleman. His ANC was very low. Much lower than anticipated. The doctors started him on prophylactic antiobotics and gave Ty 1/2 the dose he normally gets of the medicine to increase his white blood count. Ethan was able to stay at home this even...ing with Lauren. Lauren is very thankful he is there. Together they make an awesome team caring for their baby. As we all lay our heads on our pillows tonight, please remember to say a pray for Ty and his Mom and Dad. Specifically pray for Ty's strength and he will remain infection free. And for Ethan and Lauren to hold onto Gods promise.

Lauren and Ethan received Ty's lab results today. :-(.... He is extremely Neutropenic, which means he is at HIGH RISK for infections. Lauren has cancelled Ty's night nurses for this week as they work in hospitals. Until Ty's labs are drawn again on Thursday and they get the results back, Lauren and Ethan ...feel it's best n...o one come over to see Littleman. Please pray our baby stays strong and does not get any infections. Lauren and Ethan love you all, as we the family do as well and know you understand. We will keep you posted. They are taking his temperature every 4 hours to monitor him closer.

With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Matt. 19:26

Ty Update 2/18/11

‎2-18-11 Well, it's 5 days post Ty's 4 Chemotherapy Treatment. Once again our Littleman has done well and tolerated the treatment without any nausea. When I was there last weekend, I think what I noticed the most was he seemed to tire easily. Tonight Lauren and Ethan are out on a date (Yea!) with Nana at home with Ty. ...We are so thankful for all of you interest and concern about our sweetest baby. Much Love~ Debra aka Honey

Ty Update 2/17/11

Ty's labs were good yesterday! He had physical therapy this morning and did pretty good but he tires out pretty fast. Then he wanted to snuggle with daddy, so they are rocking and Ty is watching movies while daddy tries to study! I am working again today but looking forward to a fun weekend with a sweet little man! Thank you everyone for your continued prayers, love, and support! -Lauren

Ty Update 2/16/11

Ty had a good day yesterday. He spent most of the day watching his favorite movies. Physical therapy also came by to work with him, it has been a while so he tired out pretty quickly but other than that he did really well. Yesterday, we wanted him to have just a good day to relax after his chemo. We pray for another good day today. Thank you to everyone for keeping him in your thoughts and prayers- Ethan

Ty Update 2/14/11

After a very long day Ty has just finished his last chemo dose for this round! So far he is tolerating the chemo well! God is awesome! Please keep praying!
Around 12:30 Lauren text me this picture of Ty. They were getting ready to begin his IV hydration. If I understood Lauren correctly, the hydration will take 2 hours. Then they will give Ty one type of Chemotherapy drug for one hour. Then a second type for one hour and a third one for 15 minutes. Finishing up for two additional hours of hydration. Ty will spend the night in the hospital for observation for any reactions or complications. Thank all of you for continuing to pray for this little guy! He's tough....but he due a break.

We are taking Ty in for his second round of chemo today. He should only have to spend one night in the hospital. Please pray that he tolerates this treatment well and that we will have miraculous healing!! Thank you everyone for praying for our sweet Ty! We love you all and I will post pictures and updates throughout the day!

We hope to see you all tonight at the Fundraiser for the McCullar Family.  You can buy tickets in advance using the button above, or you will be able to get them at the door!  We also have some great Auction items!!

Ty Update 2/10/11

I spoke with Cis tonight in detail regarding the Big Fundraiser tomorrow night from 7 to 10 for The McCullar Family. Where the snow has certainly slowed things up a bit, all is going well and is still scheduled as planned. The evening is casual.....plan to come enjoy some great food and enjoy good friends! I... am looking very forward to meeting as many of you as I can. The co-workers, classmates, family, etc. that love Ethan, Lauren, and our Littleman, Ty. Ethan and Lauren have a need. As I was speaking with one of my dearest friends tonight on the phone, she put it like this....it's called "Paying It Forward." That is what all of you are doing for Lauren and Ethan right now. We are all so blessed in so many ways and I truly believe God will continue to bless all of us.

According to Lauren, Ty had a good restful day. His granddad (Lauren's Dad) is still with them. Ty will have more lab work tomorrow to continue to check his numbers.
Specific Prayer Request:
1. Good lab results tomoorow for Littleman.
2. Safe travels for those traveling tomorrow.
3. A better nursing situation for Lauren and Ethan.
4. And for Ethan and Lauren to feel Gods presence each and everyday and know HE is working for THEM behind the scenes everyday.

See all of you tomoorow night and let me just say in advance....Thank You For Coming!

Ty Update 2/8/2011

Allison and I were able to spend Lauren's 26th birthday with her and see our "Littleman". I think Lauren had a great day beginning by attending church with her sister. The Pastor shared with Lauren his Sermon was done with them in mind. He will go to pray with Ty, Lauren and Ethan on February 14th....Ty's second Chemo Treatm...ent. Ty had a pretty good weekend overall too. He ran a little temperature on Saturday night from the IVIG Infusion, but Tylenol took care of that. For the most part, he's doing well. He seems to play less and rest more. Loves to be held close and cuddled. I enjoyed rocking him and listening to him breathe while he slept in my arms. Lauren and the nurse had a rough time last night with him. Appears the skin around his Ostomy is breaking down from the Chemotherapy and began bleeding around that area in the middle of the night. They took Ty to the Onocolgy Doctor this morning. Lab was drawn to check his blood levels. Results came back good enough to allow him to go home. With 4 new prescriptions....Lauren and Whitney took Littleman home. Lauren sent me this picture of one exhausted baby......Thank you all for your love and prayers. We are blessed, Debra

Ty Update 2/4/11

2-4-11 Lauren took Ty to Childrens Hospital today for his first appointment with the Hemotology Onocology Doctor. Today he was given his IVIG Infusion. The procedure took about an hour. This is to help Ty with his already suppressed immune system. Benedryl was given to assist with potential reactions. Ty tolerated th...e treatment well and slept like a baby with the Benedryl on board! Ty will take his next Chemotherapy Treatment on Valentines Day. A prayer was answered today....Last nite I had a few specific prayer request. One was for Lauren and Ethans nursing situation. Lauren text me today to tell me they have a nite nurse every night for the entire weekend! This is awesome, as it allows for the two of them some valuable time together. Sunday is Lauren's Birthday!! She will be 26. And may I just say as her Mother, she is an incredible mother to Ty....at such a young age. I am in awe of her every time I watch her care for and love this precious baby. She has certainly had to grow up fast. Allison and I will travel to Little rock tomorrow to share this time with her and Ethan and see our sweetest Littleman. Your prayers are such a blessing to us. We need each and everyone of you in our lives as some days are better than others. Our love~ The McCullars and Debra

Ty Update 2/3/11

Prayers for Ty 2-3-11 Today was Lauren's turn to be the nurse as Ethan had to go back to work tonight. She and Littleman had a ok day. Labs were drawn this morning. Everything still within limits, but they are watching him closely. Lauren had some special Mom and Baby time today rocking and holding him. At times, he would get fuss...y... and want to be put in his bed. The Hemotology nurse told Lauren his bones may hurt from the medication they gave hime. Nothing a little Tylenol, his favorite movie and his bed won't cure! Tomorrow they are without a nurse again. Lauren will be with him. Ty has his first appointment at Hemotology Ofiice.
Specific prayers request:
Ty's appointment goes well tomorrow and the medication is working....He will be healed.
Lauren & Ethan's strength grows in The Lord and with each other.
Lauren & Ethan's Nursing situation gets resolved and they will have consistent nursing staff to help them care for Ty so they can continue to work and maintain some since of normalcy in their life.
The entire family.

Ty Update 2/2/11

Had a good day being the nurse again yesterday. Today was my last day for the week as his nurse as I go back to work tomorrow night. My mother came over today to let me take a quick nap. Ty continues to do well. He has a lab draw due on this morning. Please continue to keep our little man in your prayers!

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

Ty update 2/1/11

Ethan said he had a good nap and an all in all good day. Lauren and Ethan are really looking forward to seeing and talking with everyone during the Fundraiser, Friday the 11th. Ty enjoy's sitting in his Nanna's lap sipping his Sprite when he wakes up from his short nap! We can't thank you all enough!

Ty Update 1/31/11

My sweetest grandson had a good day with good lab results!  Yea Ty!  His lab will be drawn twice a week from the house per the Dr.'s orders.  Ethan and Lauren share extreme caution with Ty with the fact he has CCHS and has a decreased immune system already.  And now with Ty on Chemotherapy for his Neuroblastoma, it only compounds the caution.  (I think we all understand that!)  Ty loves to watch movies, play with his spin toy, and read books.  Especially ones with flip up flaps!  Ethan fed him sweet potatoes today while sitting in his mommy's lap!  Yummmmm!  As we all continue to get up every morning and go on with our "so called normal" lives,  please remember not only Lauren, Ethan, and Ty, but the many other families we don't even know about.  We are truly blessed.....Lauren and Ethan feel your prayers!

1-30-11 Good Morning to all Ty Fans, Prayer Warriors, and Family. Ethan was the night nurse AGAIN last night and has gone to bed to catch up. Lauren has gone to Church this morning with Ethan's sister Cis joining her. Nanna (Ethan's Mom) has baby duty until Lauren get's home to take over and care for our Littleman.! ...Ty had a quiet night with all still remaining somewhat stable. Nanna sent me this picture of Ty playing with his favorite toy and watching Fraggle Rock in his very own recliner! Has to be a guy thing! Be blessed today. Our love~ The McCullars and Debra aka Honey
